Single Release on June 3 - May Newsletter
“Art has always been the raft onto which we climb to save our sanity.
I
don’t see a different purpose for it now.” ~ Dorothea Tanning
Hi everyone,
It is a terrible, beautiful world and lately the terrible seems to be at the forefront. I was fortunate enough this past week to spend a lot of time in nature, viewing art, and listening to live music. It reminded me that beauty still exists - some hope for my weary self. More on that below.
As you know, working on my new album has been a "raft onto which we climb" for me during the pandemic. It has been a long, winding process, but I am happy to announce the first single from the album "All Over but the Cryin'" will be released on Friday, June 3. A second single "Whole Lotta Open Road" will be released on Friday, June 10. And the whole Blossom in the Sun album will be officially released on Friday, June 17.
For Spotify users, you can pre-save "All Over but the Cryin,'" "Whole Lotta Open Road" and/or the whole Blossom in the Sun album. It does help us artists with the algorithm if people do pre-save our songs. For those who want to download or buy a physical copy, you can visit here.
I am delighted to finally share this music with you, and am so grateful to everyone who worked with me to make it happen. Thank you so much to all of you - your interest and support mean everything.
:) Kirsten

Creative Musings
The husband, dog, and I spent the last week in North Adams, MA. We hiked (The Cascades are beautiful), checked out local street art, found and played at a local open mike at Bounti-Fare restaurant, and spend a chunk of time at Mass MoCA. Neither one of us had ever been there before, and it was wonderful.connect. Artists of all kinds tap into their own humanity to make whatever art it is they make. And when we view it, listen to it, read it, - or however we interact with a certain medium - we connect to that shared piece of humanity. We feel something, maybe many things - but underneath it all (at least in my case) we feel comforted by the knowledge the we do share the facets of the human experience, and we not in this all alone.
Good Stuff
Mass MoCA is definitely good stuff! It is so huge, we only saw a chunk of it. This was my first time back in a museum since the pandemic started. And there is just so much of everything, I don't really have good words to describe it. I have included some photos below - just a very eclectic smattering of what we saw. If you are looking for a museum to explore, I highly recommend it!
