Hi everyone,
Fall is officially upon us! Time for sweatshirts, crisp air, and crunchy leaves. And the Topsfield Fair, of course. After a private show tomorrow, Dave and I will be back at the fair on Monday, October 6. More information can be found below.
I hope you all are enjoying the change of seasons!
:) Kirsten
Upcoming Shows
2:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Topsfield, MA
Many of you know this is one of my favorite gigs. The fair is a long-time autumn tradition of mine, and I look forward to playing and singing, and also to the animals, vegetables, and fun on the midway!

Creative Musings
My husband and I have decided we are going to try to do one new and fun thing per month. When busy with the normal stuff of day to day living, it's easy to fall into a routine that doesn't change much. And in many ways routine is good - the routine of brushing my teeth is one that I wouldn't want to change, But I have also noticed routine can stifle my creativity. It's hard to break out of the same old same old, and become excited about a new idea - or even to have a new idea.
But doing something new and different leads me to want to continue to to do new and different things. According to what I have read, doing something new forces the brain to make new connections, which in turn increases a person's creative thinking. This article and video, and this synopsis of a study, delve a more into this phenomenon.
I don't think we'll be jumping out if an airplane or anything (at least I know I won't be), but we'll probably explore new to us museums, or try a new activity. If you have any ideas for us, let us know!
Good Stuff
I don't think I have mentioned an album as good stuff lately. But I have really been enjoying the new Hailey Whitters album Corn Queen. It's just good, heartfelt country music. My current favorites are "Wagon" "White Limousine," and "Dancemor." Take a listen!
