House Concert Tomorrow and Topsfield Fair - September Newsletter

Hi everyone,

This will be a shorter newsletter, as I sent out the August one late in the month.

First, I just want to remind everyone about the house concert in Woburn tomorrow, hosted by Nancy and Tim Walsh, wonderful live music supporters. Tim Foley will be playing as well, and we are really looking forward to this show. I have played Tim and Nancy's house concert series before, and had a really great time. To RSVP and receive the address, please email nmwalsh1219@gmail.com.

And at the end of the month Dave and I return to the Topsfield Fair. This is always one of my favorite events of the year. I love to play and sing, and then take part in all the fair has to offer - agricultural events, rides, fair food and more. It's a fall tradition!

Hope everyone is having a great September so far, and hope to see you out at a show!

:) Kirsten

I love house concerts! And this one has terrific hosts - they couldn't be more supportive of live music. I will play a bunch of songs of course, and the husband Tim Foley will join me on some, as well as play a few of his songs from his new album Stop Along the Way. Suggested donation of $15.

And we're back again at the longest running agricultural fair in the country. This is always one of my favorite gigs, and I always like seeing the familiar faces who come out to see us.

Good Stuff

I  have been a big Marty Stuart fan for years, and I have really been enjoying his latest album Altitude. It has a definite vibe - kind of Bakersfield sound influence. One reviewer used the term "cosmic cowboy." Anyway, I highly recommend the whole thing. It's got great playing, both by Marty and his Fabulous Superlatives band members all super talented musicians. I also always admired his lyric writing - simple and concise, but still able to say a lot. I really love all the songs on this album, but two I'll choose to highlight are "Country Star" and "The Angels Came Down."
