Rising Eagle - July Newsletter

Image
Robert Frost Stone House Museum, Shaftsbury, VT Hi all! Thanks to all of you who came out to one of  The Sweet Janes  shows in June. I have such a good time playing with Lori and MB. Talented, kind women, who are so much fun to hang with.   This month Dave and I are back at the Rising Eagle Publick House, which has become one of my favorite places to play. They have great food, and such a nice vibe.   I have been enjoying the slower pace of these first few weeks of summer. Or maybe my pace has been slower just because of all the very, very hot days we've had? Anyway, I've been reading and thinking about songwriting, next steps for shows, etc. If anyone has any ideas about places you'd like me to play, please share! We had a nice trip to VT at the end of June, and went to the Robert Frost Stone House Museum (more below), which is pictured above.   I hope you all have been enjoying the start to summer!   :) Kirsten Upcoming Shows Monday, July 14 Kirsten ...

May Newsletter - Hello again! and New Shows and a New Song

Image
Side By Side - A new song I am working on. Hi All! Remember me? I used to send you a newsletter once per month about music and creativity and things. I kind of pulled a disappearing act. Not on purpose - life threw some twists and turns (as life will do) and I had to put most of my focus towards some un-twisting and un-turning. But I am happy to say that things have straightened back out for the most part, and I am glad to be booking shows, writing, and am looking forward to being back out in the world playing music.  Above is a new song I started last year, and have been able to get back to over the past few months. I don't know if it's truly done, but it's close enough that I thought I'd share it. I hope you enjoy! I have a solo show this coming Saturday, and then shows with Dave and The Sweet Janes lined up over the next few months. I hope to fill in some dates with more solo shows as well.  Thank you so much for your interest and support! :) Kirsten Upcoming Shows...

Image
Buttermilk Falls, Ithaca, NY Hello all! What's up, everyone? It's nice to be in your inbox again. I took a couple of months off from sending a newsletter. I was trying to give myself some down time in a few different ways. I'm not sure it totally worked - life always seems to throw us some surprises, doesn't it? But Tim and I did get away in May to the Finger Lakes region of New York, which is where the photo above was taken. But I've got some fun shows with Dave lined up for the summer, and two of them are this month. That information is below. Those of you who have been reading this newsletter for awhile know how much I love playing outdoor gigs, so I am really looking forward to my summer gigs. I hope you all are having a nice summer so far, and I hope you savor it - this season always go by so quickly.   Hi all, Happy Spring! My jonquils (pictured above) have started to bloom. Spring is definitely arriving. We have had so much rain here. I know it will mean things will be green and pink and purple and pretty, but I have definitely been craving the sun, so I am glad it is sunny where I am today. I have some super fun shows that I am excited to tell you about. This coming week I will again be opening for Jimmy Tingle - this time on Sunday afternoon in Wakefield, MA. Tickets can be found at jimmytingle.com . If you haven't caught his Humor for Humanity show, you really should. It's hopeful, uplifting and there will be much laughter! And speaking of laughter, there's always a lot of it when MaryBeth Maes , Lori Wadkins, and I get together as the Sweet Janes, which we will be doing this coming Saturday night. We always have a great time hanging out, singing harmonies on some of our favorite cover songs, plus throwing in some originals as well. Then at the end of the month I wi...
