Some Reviews, and Upcoming Shows - September Newsletter

Image
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a nice end to your summer. I love these early September days, when it nice and warm during the day, but cools down at night. It's a lovely transition into the crisp days of autumn.  I continue to be grateful for the ways in which Blossom in the Sun is traveling through the world. Here is a a quick snapshot view of some of the latest news: the album got a nice review from Bill Copeland Music News . the radio show Good Folk on WMNR in Connecticut will feature my music on its October 6 show. Blossom in the Sun was a Top 5 pick in the September issue of Metronome Magazine , and received a nice review there as well. I'm so thankful people are connecting with this album. And I am looking forward to continue connecting with folks out at live shows. I saw so many of you this summer that I hadn't seen in quite a while. Show info is below, as usual. Thank you all for your continued support! :) Kirsten Listen to the Album To preview songs on the albu...

Radio Happenings, Shows and More - August Newsletter

Hello all! I hope this email finds you well! It finds me grateful, as Blossom in the Sun continues its journey through world. Some very nice things have happened, and I am humbled and thankful. Paul Hitchcock, host of Muddy Bottom Blues on WMKY in Kentucky, programmed a whole hour long show around my music, playing selections from all three of my solo albums at the end of July. I heard from people near and far who tuned in, which was a lot of fun.  It's also fun for me to be on the Top 30 most played albums on WERU in Maine this week, as that station has a cool history. Noel "Paul" Stookey of Peter, Paul, and Mary is one of the founders of that station, and it has a very thoughtful mission, vision, and values. I have also pre-recorded a radio interview for a program called Song of the Soul . It is a syndicated program and I'm yet sure exactly when it will air. But I will keep you posted. I had a great time conversing with the host, Mark Helpsmeet. Upcoming show ...

“Art has always been the raft onto which we climb to save our sanity.  I don’t see a different purpose for it now.” ~ Dorothea Tanning Hi everyone, It is a terrible, beautiful world and lately the terrible seems to be at the forefront. I was fortunate enough this past week to spend a lot of time in nature, viewing art, and listening to live music. It reminded me that beauty still exists - some hope for my weary self. More on that below. As you know, working on my new album has been a "raft onto which we climb" for me during the pandemic. It has been a long, winding process, but I am happy to announce the first single from the album "All Over but the Cryin'" will be released on Friday, June 3. A second single "Whole Lotta Open Road" will be released on Friday, June 10. And the whole Blossom in the Sun album will be officially released on Friday, June 17.  For Spotify users, you can pre-save " All Over but the Cryin ,'" " Whole L...

Hi everyone, My feature set at the Parish Center for the Arts open mike was so much fun. I saw people I hadn't seen since the "before times" and I got to hear a wide variety of music from all the open mikers, which was great. It felt so good to be back in the game, so to speak. I have two more live shows this month and info is below. One is in Vermont, so if you know folks in that area who would enjoy an afternoon of original music, please send them our way! I am also looking forward to other upcoming events. In June I will be playing a house concert on Cape Cod  stay tuned for more info coming soon. I have a title for the new album! It will be called Blossom in the Sun , which is a lyric from the song Green-Eyed Dais y. You can have a listen to the final mix here . The songs are being mastered as you read this, and graphics are being designed. We're getting closer and closer! Thank you, as always, for your interest and support! Hope to see you out there soon. :) Kirs...
