Springtime! - April Newsletter

Image
Hello all! It is officially spring! The season of April showers, May flowers... and allergies. :) Mine haven't been too bad yet, but I've had some watery eyes for sure. But I still love to see all the colors unfold.  It was very nice to be back performing again last month. This month I have a couple things planned - one virtual and one in person. And then as the weather gets warmer I have a nice lineup of shows through the fall, which I will continue to add to. Please check out my website for information about future shows, and the April gigs are listed below. May gigs include a Sweet Janes show as well as an opening set at house concert featuring Sloan Wainwright. I haven't heard Sloan in quite awhile - I am looking forward to being able to do so. As usual, thank you for your interest and support, and I hope to see you at a show! :) Kirsten Upcoming Shows   Monday, April 17   Kirsten solo 7:00 p.m. New Jersey Folk Project Song Circle on Zoom (link at folkp...

New Christmas Single Today, Hancock Depot and Winter Potpourri

Image
Hello all, What a pleasure it was to play a show with Susan Levine and Grace Morrison at the Methuen Memorial Music Hall last month. The space is just magnificent, and the audience wonderful. The photo to the left will give you an idea of the beauty and scale of the organ that is there. Thank you to all who came, and welcome and thank you to those folks who are new to this list. I very much appreciate your interest and support.  My new Christmas single releases today, entitled " Christmas Lights Come Down ." The link leads you to Bandcamp, but you can listen anywhere music is sold. I'm excited to send this song out into the world. I wrote it with my friend Janet Cohen, and it's a song the reflects a bit on the twinges of sadness that we can feel, even during this festive season. I hope you like it!  I've got a couple of fun shows coming up. One in Hancock, NH and then the return of the Winter Potpourri at the Linden Tree Coffee House . Information is below! And...

I am very excited about my show at the Methuen Memorial Music Hall with Susan Levine and Grace Morrison . It is on a Sunday afternoon in an absolutely beautiful space, and Susan and Grace are great. I really hope you will join us . The Sweet Janes ( MaryBeth Maes , Lori Wadkins, and me) have a couple of mini-appearances this month, where we'll do a few songs at each. It has been awhile since we performed together, so I am looking forward to those as well. Details are below. Also, I have been putting the finishing touches on a Christmas single I will release right after Thanksgiving, co-written with me friend Janet Cohen. It is a little bit different than many holiday singles - it talks about the sadness a lot of us feel around this time of year, in addition to the joy.  Here is a snippet ; look for the full single in a couple of weeks. Finally, as the holiday season star...
