Rising Eagle in Melrose - February Newsletter

Image
Hello everyone, It is nice to be connecting with you again. As I write this my husband is rehearsing with some band members in the other room, which not only is a lovely background sound for creating this newsletter, but is a reminder of all the ways in which music connects us with other people. Music connected he and I, and now I am connected to the wonderful musicians he plays with. I'm grateful that my music and creative endeavors has led me to connect with all of you - and some of you I would never even know if it weren't for music! I mentioned in my last newsletter that I was going to slow down for the winter, and I pretty much have. I've been reading and journaling and meditating and working around the house - and even writing. I have a new song pretty much completed, and that's a good feeling. But I am venturing out of the house on Monday night for a show in Melrose with Dave. Information is below, and I hope to see some of you there. I also hope you have been ...

Thank you and Happy New Year - December/January Newsletter

Image
Hi everyone, This will be a short and sweet newsletter! I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season. I just have one show in early January, and another in late February (info about both is below) and unless something else comes up, that will be it for the winter. I plan to take some time to write and work on other creative ideas, as well as tend to some house projects. Hopefully the seeds that I plant this winter will bloom in some fun ways in the spring and summer. :) May you all have just the kind of winter you would like! Mostly I want to say thank you for all your interest and support this past year. I had lovely shows of all kinds - house concerts, coffee houses, opening sets for Jimmy Tingle, farmers markets, fairs and more. I am so fortunate to have these opportunities and to have folks like you come out to listen. I am grateful for all the different ways you tell me my music connects with you. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I wish you all the best for 2024. Hap...

House Concert Tomorrow and Topsfield Fair - September Newsletter

Hi everyone, This will be a shorter newsletter, as I sent out the August one late in the month. First, I just want to remind everyone about the house concert in Woburn tomorrow, hosted by Nancy and Tim Walsh, wonderful live music supporters. Tim Foley will be playing as well, and we are really looking forward to this show. I have played Tim and Nancy's house concert series before, and had a really great time. To RSVP and receive the address, please email nmwalsh1219@gmail.com. And at the end of the month Dave and I return to the Topsfield Fair. This is always one of my favorite events of the year. I love to play and sing, and then take part in all the fair has to offer - agricultural events, rides, fair food and more. It's a fall tradition! Hope everyone is having a great September so far, and hope to see you out at a show! :) Kirsten Upcoming Shows Sunday, September 17   Kirsten with special guest Tim Foley Music and Friends House Concert Series Hosted by Nancy and ...

House Concert in Woburn, Topsfield Fair, and Lynn Farmers Market - August Newsletter

Image
Hello all, Are we in the dog days of summer? I feel like maybe we're past them. Let me google that, and I will be right back. (Pause for googling). OK, so the dog days are actually from July 3 - August 11. Who knew? Well, I mean I know someone did, but it wasn't me. And they are called dog days because the sun occupies the same region of the sky as Sirius, the Dog Star, pictured above.  It seems we are past the dog days of summer then, and I will admit that the air is a bit crisp in the early mornings, although it certainly feels like summer outside as I write this. And, I do have three more outdoor gigs to go: Music and Friends House Concert Series, the Lynn Farmers Market and the Topsfield Fair (info below), so I am going to make summer last as long as I can.  I am particularly excited about the house concert. Super-duper live music supporters and wonderful couple Nancy and Tim Walsh had a series at their home in Medford prior to the pandemic. Well, they now have a ho...

I am also delighted to tell you that Tim Foley (the husband) has a new album called Stop Along the Way , and it is officially released today! This has been a labor of love, which was put on pause for awhile due to the pandemic. I am so excited for Tim, and just as excited for you to hear it. You can listen anywhere music is available .
